Project Type:  Total rehab of a 1940’s single family home with a large 1960’s family room addition - Glenview, IL

Objective:  The focus of this rehab project was to open up and enlarge the small 9’x15’ enclosed kitchen and update the wonderfully spacious, outdated family room with vaulted ceilings and large windows opening up to a private, landscaped backyard.

Scope of Work:  By opening up a few walls we created a current style kitchen opening up to the wonderfully spacious family room.  We redid family room finishes including the fireplace surround, refinished the wood ceiling and did much in terms of lighting and closest to hide clutter. The exterior greenhouse, beyond repair, was redone as an inviting exterior patio.

Details:  The end look looked like a simple update/redo but, there was much behind the work that needed sophisticated evaluation of the structure, existing (outdated) mechanicals and relocation of various elements.
