Project Type:  Total rehab/reuse of a 9300 SF apartment building. Chicago, IL

Objective:  This 9 unit, beautifully ornate, abandoned apartment building was converted into 9 new condo units.  The units were structurally changed and all spaces were oriented to the side yard to provide outdoor space for each unit. This building is in a very densely populated area of Chicago where outdoor space is a premium. All units sold in little over 6 months.

Scope of Work:  Mostly all new interior walls, all new mechanicals and the primary design advantage added to the project was to open the side wall and add balconies for all units. A common area yard space was created for all condo owners.

Details:  Zoning had to be changed. Side yard had to be purchased and annexed to the building proper. Neighborhood Committee had

to approve our design concept and new building use. Project included extensive structural change.
